First hill running session
Location: Greenwich park, 10am.
First hill training session with Serpentine RC and first for over a year. Hoping that this will strengthen and ‘waken’ up those muscles.
Session
Part 1:
Road - effort up, jog recovery down back to the start.
Time: Continuous reps for 12 minutes (6.5 reps completed).
Part 2:
Grass - even pace up and down.
Time: Continuous reps for 10 minutes (10 reps completed).
Part 3:
Very steep grass hill - effort up, jog/walk back down.
Time: Continuous reps for 7 minutes.
Conclusion
A good session well coached and drilled. Parts 1 and 3 were tiring. Part 2 was paced well so managed okay.
Need to focus on:
- form,
- using arms a little more
- stretching well.
